Our first choice for vertical sliding sash windows are manuafctured with a traditional box frame fitted with weights and cords, reinforcing that timeless elegance of sash windows but sliding with a simple ease.

The alternative of a solid frame with pre-tensioned spring balances is a perfect solution for creating that period look when combined with more modern building techniques or for high level installations where tilt mechanisms can allow for cleaning from inside the property.

You can find the perfect balance between the external aesthetics and indoor comfort with our stylish range of sliding timber sash windows.

  • The original 1970’s windows in my property were in a terrible state. I wanted to maintain a contemporary, modern design, which was energy efficient. So, I commissioned Wood & Wisdom to design and manufacture hardwood, double glazed windows that replicated the feel of the original design. They’ve done an outstanding job. Service was excellent, with attention to detail throughout.

  • We decided to completely refurbish our traditional Sussex farmhouse and replace all the windows and doors with hard wood traditional style double-glazing.  We are extremely happy with the quality and design and would not hesitate to recommend Wood and Wisdom

  • Our home dates back to 1900, and it’s important to us that the original Edwardian character of the property is maintained. We chose Wood & Wisdom to work with us on a recent refurbishment project; our home’s rear windows overlooking the South Downs, new windows for a garage complex and bespoke commission of a sunburst semi-circular window inspired by Edwardian design.  Throughout the project the team demonstrated expertise and craftsmanship that was second to none.  We could not be happier.

  • My 4-story modern seafront home has an entire façade made of glass and timber.  It’s incredibly exposed to the elements and sits within a conservation area.  Wood & Wisdom’s brief was to design and install bespoke windows that were not only in keeping, but also incredibly hard wearing. They recommended Accoya frames finished in a bespoke colour, with stainless steel fixtures and fittings suited to the exposed elevation. The team was amazing throughout the project, skillfully managing the challenges presented by 4 floors and large panes of glass without any problem at all.

  • The team at Wood & Wisdom designed and installed all the windows and doors for the rear of our detached Victorian property.  This included a bespoke 10x5ft roof lantern & custom built Victorian sash windows, which replicate exactly the existing original windows.  We also commissioned them to build and install a large set of bi folding doors which open into our garden and flood the new family room with light.   Excellent expert service, and I’d highly recommend.
