Our home dates back to 1900, and it’s important to us that the original Edwardian character of the property is maintained. We chose Wood & Wisdom to work with us on a recent refurbishment project; our home’s rear windows overlooking the South Downs, new windows for a garage complex and bespoke commission of a sunburst semi-circular window inspired by Edwardian design. Throughout the project the team demonstrated expertise and craftsmanship that was second to none. We could not be happier.P Brown

We decided to completely refurbish our traditional Sussex farmhouse and replace all the windows and doors with hard wood traditional style double-glazing. We are extremely happy with the quality and design and would not hesitate to recommend Wood and WisdomMr & Mrs A Gaskell

Our 1503 Grade 2 Listed farmhouse is charming, but not without a few age-related challenges! Wood & Wisdom took the renovation of our windows in their stride.
Designing custom made slim lined double glazing to match the aesthetics of the original windows, satisfying planning whilst at the same time providing greater energy efficiency. The team finished with lime mortar, which also satisfied listed building consent. An expert service, true professionals.Mr & Mrs Edwards
As part of the development of my first investment property, Wood & Wisdom designed and installed Critall-style glazed doors & panels to connect the new kitchen extension with the rest of the Victorian property. The doors, painted in the same colour as the DeVol kitchen, allow light to flood through the garden flat and are a real design featureK Walker-Mason
The team at Wood & Wisdom designed and installed all the windows and doors for the rear of our detached Victorian property. This included a bespoke 10x5ft roof lantern & custom built Victorian sash windows, which replicate exactly the existing original windows. We also commissioned them to build and install a large set of bi folding doors which open into our garden and flood the new family room with light. Excellent expert service, and I’d highly recommend.M Saunders
We chose Wood & Wisdom to work with us on a recent refurbishment project and asked them to create two 2 separate sets of automated gates which are operated by sensor.
Each gate is 16 x 8ft, which presented a challenge. But the team expertly adjusted the brick piers to ensure brackets could be fitted, before custom making bespoke wrought iron hinges capable of withstanding the weight of the gates at the Wood & Wisdom foundry. A smooth project, with excellent service from the team.P Brown

Wood & Wisdom exceeded my expectations in every way. The team of designers and craftsmen were incredibly sensitive to my home’s original features. Carefully refurbishing original sash windows, incorporating discrete modern technology, and custom making replicas where refurbishment was not possible. They made unlimited visits to ensure I was totally happy, and the finish is faultless.Mrs C Horsfall
We wanted to install a painted wooden staircase into our home that was in keeping with the style of the property. The natural oak staircase Wood & Wisdom manufactured and installed is perfect, and reflects the natural wood finishes we have throughout the rest of the house. The whole process was incredibly simple and straightforward, and only took a couple of days.Mr & Mrs M
Attached to our house is an orangery which we love to use during the warmer months, however during the winter we’d like the option to close it off. In what was previously an open space between the orangery and the house, Wood & Wisdom suggested we install custom wooden internal doors, flexible enough to allow us to open the entire space during the summer, and part close, or fully close off during the winter. Really professional. The team even matched the satin nickel handles to match the fixtures we have throughout the rest of the house.Mr & Mrs Crudge
I commissioned Wood & Wisdom to create a kitchen in my family home. However, it also serves as the kitchen for my home bakery business so I needed an exacting design. The team did a marvellous job and answered the brief perfectly. Incorporating many custom details including bespoke handles, cupboards and drawers for a safer working environment. Their choice of materials and overall attention to detail, such as tailored larder cabinets and a practical central island has created a stunning space that we continue to enjoy on a daily basis.Erin Wallace

My house sits high above the street in a very prominent location in Hove. I felt it deserved a statement front door and asked Wood & Wisdom to help me. The service I received was wonderful. From touring Brighton and Hove with me to gather inspiration, to noting down the favourite design features and styles I’ve gathered on my travels.
I commissioned them to make a bespoke Accoya front door, painted in an eye catching green/grey and finished with ornate, contemporary polished chrome fixtures. Exceptional service from beginning to end.Mrs G
Wood & Wisdom helped to redesign the staircase for our traditional stone farmhouse. They suggested ways of creating more light in the hallways whilst future proofing the design should we ever want to extend the house. The beautiful continuous handrail makes a stunning feature in the centre of our home – thank you.Mr & Mrs A Gaskell

Home improvement jobs are on the radar for many householders, but never more so than now as many property owners are considering transforming their current abode in favour of moving.
Much has been made of the fact that more and more of us in the UK are improving rather than moving at present, due to the state of the housing market, but that means we need to think carefully about what improvements we make and how much we spend on them.
