Our handmade bespoke kitchens are stunning and will last for many years.

The made to measure fitted luxury kitchens and freestanding kitchen furniture we manufacture is typical of a Shaker style and built using traditional techniques and construction methods. Each step of the construction process of a handmade kitchen is designed and carefully crafted to meet the original vision of the client.

Design features include dovetailed drawers on timber drawer runners or modern concealed soft close runners, hand turned knobs and traditional cabinet doors hung on solid drawn brass hinges. These cabinets can be hand painted to any colour using eggshell paints or lightly oiled and waxed.

Most factory-made contemporary kitchens use either wood veneer or plastic coatings over a moulded particle-board core. Manufacturers use this technique because it’s cheap to produce doors and cabinet carcasses. Wood and Wisdom’s solid wood bespoke kitchens are fundamentally different.

In a solid wood kitchen all the components, from doors and worktops to the panels of the carcass’s themselves are made from planks of wood. Once machined they are bonded together forming a super-strong structure. Even when solid wood kitchens are painted, its obvious they aren’t made from venner covered particle board – because the natural grain of the timber shines through.

Combine the beauty of marble or granite, as a choice of worktop material, with the elegance of timber and you have a master piece!

  • I commissioned Wood & Wisdom to create a kitchen in my family home.  However, it also serves as the kitchen for my home bakery business so I needed an exacting design.  The team did a marvellous job and answered the brief perfectly.  Incorporating many custom details including bespoke handles, cupboards and drawers for a safer working environment. Their choice of materials and overall attention to detail, such as tailored larder cabinets and a practical central island has created a stunning space that we continue to enjoy on a daily basis.
