If you’re low on storage space, why don’t you transform the staircase space into slide-out drawers? These would be perfect for storing old books, shoes, towels and fresh linen… whatever you need to squirrel away out of sight.
A book nook
If the staircase is of an impressive size, you could turn the space into a book nook, with shelving added to the underside of the stairs and a chaise longue or comfy armchair nestled beneath the stairs for a truly peaceful little hideaway.
A bike rack
If you don’t like keeping your bike outside and want to make sure it’s safe, why don’t you add some bike racks under the stairs and display your ride like the work of art it is?
